Youth Service Club (YSC) is a student-run club sponsored by CAPA-MC. It organizes a series of virtual Zoom information seminars focusing on hot topics related to the interests of the Chinese community in Montgomery County (MC). It has successfully held virtual seminars introducing colleges, magnet middle schools, high school enrichment programs, and federal government job applications in Montgomery County in English and Chinese. The seminars attracted hundreds of people to watch. Our student volunteers get the opportunity to communicate with the invited speakers, flyer design and distribution, hosts, and tech support in Zoom meetings. Volunteer work mainly focuses on providing support services for the CAPA annual meeting, the PVSA award, and the Dr. Cheung Scholarship to advocate and promote CAPA-MC. The goal of our club is to improve student volunteers’ communication and management skills and to impact our Chinese community.
